VEX
The VEX Robotics Competition is a high school robotics competition organized by Innovation FIRST and RobotEvents.com. Teams of mentors (corporate employees, teachers, or college students) and high school/middle school students collaborate together to design and build a robot using standard VEX kit of parts. The game details changes every year.

DiscoBots - Mini-Jockey
VEX 2013 - Sack Attack
The DiscoBots had two teams qualify for the 2012 VEX College World Championship. 2587z (zeta) team built a robot named mini-jockey ! And 2587a (alpha) qualified as excellence winner and HISD league champion.
DiscoBots - Mini-Dragon
VEX 2012 - Gateway
The DiscoBots had one team qualify for the 2012 VEX College World Championship. 2587z (zeta) team built a robot named mini-dragon ! The robot played well and advanced to division finals in Math partnered with Green Egg 44 and Lynfield from New Zealand.
DiscoBots - World Finalists
VEX 2011 - Round Up
The DiscoBots had a record 7 teams during the round-up season. 3 teams attended the 2011 VEX College World Championship. 2587d (delta) perfomed the best winning the Math division and eventually winning the World Finalist award in a close match to team 44 Green Eggs. Robots picks up plastic rings and stack them on movable posts.

VEX College, 2010 - Clean Sweep
Rice Robotics Club's robot team entries for the 2010 VEX College World Championship. Robot picks up orange footballs and green balls and hurdles them over a 1 foot wall. Team won the World Sportsmanship Award.
Undertaker & Overtaker
VEX College, 2009 - Elevation
Rice Robotics Club's Undertaker & Overtaker robot entries for the 2009 VEX College World Championship. Robot picks up 3" foam cubes and stacks them over triangle goals. Team won the World Championship Finalist Award and the Think Award.
Disco Cube
VEX, 2008 - Elevation
Rookie year Lamar High School (FRC#2587). Robot picks up 3" foam cubes and stacks them over triangle goals. Team won the Houston VEX Regional (with 1429) and the Programming Skills Challenge.
RamRod
DPRG, RoboRama 2005
This was a vex robot before the VEX Robotics competition existed. One of the first Vex robots to compete in DPRG. Competed in all tasks of RoboRama including Quick Trip, Line Following, Wall Following, Time run, Can Retrieval. Won 2nd place overall.
